Merry Christmas Guitarists!

Thursday, December 24, 2009

all in  twilight wishes everyone a HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!!

I've been meaning to post more these holidays. I couldn't and I'm sorry. I'm going to play an electric and bass guitar this coming December 26 and 29 and I suck at those two. So I'm practicing a lot. I hope to get back on track soon. Again, Merry Christmas! -- Guitar Jen

Lesson 4: Decode by Paramore

Thursday, December 10, 2009

Decode by Paramore

For my student, Jana

Remember the lesson on eighth notes and Leyenda? This is just the same. Use p on bass notes (in this case it's all "la") and alternate i and m on the treble notes.

Note: Intro is transposed an octave lower. Jana can only sight read first position notes on the guitar.
Right Hand Symbols: p - thumb, i - index, m - middle

These are the Chords:

Left Hand Symbols: 1 - index, 2 - middle, 3 - ring finger

Make four strums of each chord above. They go with these lyrics:

FM7                                      Am/D
How can I decide what's right?
                                               Am
When you're clouding up my mind
                                   Em
Can't win your losing fight all the time
FM7                                        Am/D
Not gonna ever own what's mine
                                               Am
When you're always taking sides
                                         Em
You wont take away my pride
                   FM7      Am/D
No not this time
                Am          Em
Not this time

Same thing with the Chorus:

FM7
How did we get here?
Am/D                     Am      Em
I use to know you so well
FM7
How did we get here?
Am/D                     Am     Em       *Am       G    Em
Well, I think I know

*Do four strums of Am, 3 strums G and 1 Em. You still remember how to do a G, right? =)

Same chords FM7-Am/D-Am and Em (4 strums each) for the next verse and chorus (except the highlighted blue bit after the chorus):

The truth is hiding in your eyes
And its hanging on your tongue
Just boiling in my blood,
But you think that I can't see
What kind of man that you are
If you're a man at all
Well, I will figure this one out on my own
(I'm screaming "I love you so..." But my thoughts you can't decode)
How did we get here?
I use to know you so well
How did we get here?
Well, I think I know

Guitar Solo: Do same chords above FM7 - Am/D - Am - Em (twice)

Next:

Chords above are for these part:

You can do four strums each or 2 longer ones.

            FM7                    Dm
Do you see what we've done?
                                         Am                Em
We're gonna make such fools of ourselves
            FM7                      Dm
Do you see what we've done?
                                         Am               Em
We're gonna make such fools of ourselves

Then back to basic chords:

FM7-Am/D
       Am      Em
Yeah
FM7                             Am/D
How did we get here?
                               Am         Em
I use to know you so well
FM7                           Am/D
How did we get here?
                                       Am          Em
Well, I use to know you so well

Lastly, do this chord pattern on the last part of the song:

Do one strum each on FM7-G-Am/D-Am-FM7-Am7 and a longer one on Em on this part of the song:

FM7 G Am/D Am FM7 Am7 Em
I think I know
FM7 G Am/D Am FM7 Am7 Em
I think I know
FM7      G  Am/D    Am FM7 Am7 Em
There is something that I see in you
FM7      G  Am/D    Am FM7 Am7 Em
It might kill me I want it to be true

And end with an Am/D =)

This is Claude Debussy's Claire de Lune played by my favorite master guitarists John Williams and Julian Bream. I really love how they played this and everytime I hear this, I can't help thinking my Claire de Lune sucks big time! Hahahaha. But thank you everyone for patronizing. =)

Eyes on Fire
Blue Foundation
Twilight Soundtrack

Em-G-C5
I’ll seek you out,
Flay you alive
One more word and you won’t survive
And I’m not scared of your stolen power
I see right through you any hour

E5
I won’t soothe your pain
I won’t ease your strain
Em-G-C
You’ll be waiting in vain
I got nothing for you to gain

Em-G-C5
I’m taking it slow
Feeding my flame
Shuffling the cards of your game
And just in time
In the right place
Suddenly I will play my ace

E5
I won’t soothe your pain
I won’t ease your strain
Em-G-C
You’ll be waiting in vain
I got nothing for you to gain

Em-G-C
Eyes on fire
Your spine is ablaze
Felling any foe with my gaze
And just in time
In the right place
Steadily emerging with grace

Em-D/G-C
Aaahhh...
Felling any foe with my gaze
Steadily emerging with grace
Felling any foe with my gaze
Steadily emerging with grace

Welcome to ALL IN TWILIGHT: Your resource for Twilight Saga Guitar Music!

Saturday, January 17, 2009

Hi! My name is Guitar Jen. Welcome to my blog! All in
twilight started with this Bella's Lullaby video that I made last January
2009. I transcribed the song for guitar in December 2008 after watching
Twilight movie. The response for this video was great and people
started asking me for tablatures and scores. Hence, the birth of this
blog, the venue for my transcriptions.

All in twilight is actually a composition for guitar by Japanese composer,
Toru Takemitsu. I chose the title for this blog because it says two things I
love: guitar and twilight. And those two things is what this blog will be all
about.
